1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Friends,

This month marks the 1 year anniversary of Cultural Cotton. Without your support, Cultural Cotton could not have grown and matured so strongly. Thank you.

This year was a test. We conceived the concept and vision of Cultural Cotton a little over one year ago and proceeded with minimal feedback. Despite our research, we had no clear way to predict how people would respond. Because of this Cultural Cotton was a huge risk, especially given the economic climate. However, after one year of selling online and participating in a variety of festivals, we’re proud to inform you that we’ve received a strong, promising response.

This type of response is crucial as we continue to pursue our vision. Ultimately, we want Cultural Cotton to forge a shift in the way people think about wearing a t-shirt. Instead of simply choosing the next t-shirt in the stack, we want people understand the message they are communicating and wear it consciously. It is our hope that this shift in decision-making can produce a greater number of relevant t-shirt messages being circulated and re-enforced within our communities. Even though we have made great progress, we still have an enormous amount to accomplish.

To continue growing, Cultural Cotton needs your support. And we are not saying this so you buy a t-shirt! Rather, we are asking to you to spread the word about us -- Introduce Cultural Cotton to your friends on Facebook! Tweet about us on Twitter! Post a picture of yourself wearing your Cultural Cotton t-shirt on Myspace! Write a review about us on Yelp! Being small and independent, we need help to successfully grow and build a loyal following.

We are beginning a new initiative called “buy a tee, plant a tree.” For every t-shirt purchased, Cultural Cotton will donate money to plant a tree in effort to help restore the Atlantic Forest in South America (in support of the Nature Conservancy [www.plantabillion.org]).

Again, thank you for making this year a memorable one for Cultural Cotton. Stay informed through our website and also Facebook, Twitter, and Myspace.

Sincerely,

Pat
